About the event
Internationally bestselling author AF Steadman comes to Canterbury to talk about her blockbuster Skandar series. Get ready for unlikely heroes, elemental magic, sky battles, ancient secrets and ferocious unicorns. Find out about her original inspirations for the Skandar series, which has been translated into over 45 languages and is set to hit the big screen with Sony Pictures. Come prepared to create your own bloodthirsty unicorn, take part in the Chaos Cup and discover elemental magic!
The event will be followed by a signing, and there will be a book stall at the venue with a range of AF Steadman's books available for purchase. If you have chosen the 'ticket + book' option, the book included will be the hardback of The First Unicorn Rider.
Tickets for this event are charged at £6 per child and on a pay as you feel basis for adults, but please note that each person attending will need a ticket. All money from ticket sales supports the running, continuation and expansion of Canterbury Children's Literature Festival and our year round outreach work within the local community.
The full programme for the 2026 Canterbury Children's Literature Festival will go on sale on Monday 20th April at 8am.
