The Supersonic Fart!

If you think farts are hilarious, this is the event for you! Author Helen Rose will introduce you to the Supersonic Fart with her incredible quiz, and a fun reading of her new book. There will also be an appearance from Luna

the dog, the Fart Spinner and other fun activities.

Recommended age 3+

The Supersonic Fart will take place in the mezzanine room in Canterbury Library, and you will be able to get books signed by both the author and illustrator before the event.

Tickets for this event are charged on a pay as you feel basis, starting at £2 per child and on a completely pay as you feel basis for adults, but please note that each person attending will need a ticket. All money from ticket sales supports the running, continuation and expansion of Canterbury Children's Literature Festival and our year round outreach work within the local community.

'Ticket and book' option will include a copy of The Supersonic Fart by Helen Rose, illustrated by Garry Parsons.

About the Author

Helen is a dedicated writer with a passion for crafting delightful picture books. She enjoys the more playful side of life, with her stories featuring ninjas, dragons, and even trips to the moon! Her debut book, The Supersonic Fart, will be published in July 2026 by Macmillan, and is illustrated by Garry Parsons (the best-selling illustrator of The Dinosaur Who Pooped series). Helen’s writing has been recognized and longlisted for prestigious awards, such as the Cheshire Novel Prize (Top 100 Kids List) and the Write Mentor Idea Idol Awards. Helen was also selected for the prestigious All-Stories Mentorship program. When not writing, Helen enjoys practicing karate, and spending time in cute bookshops … (though not at the same time)!
