About the Author
Thiago de Moraes was born in Brazil and moved to England for the weather.
He spends most of his time in a tiny shed at the bottom of his garden, writing and illustrating books, comics and bits of old cardboard boxes. He enjoys telling all sorts of stories, from non-fiction books like Mighty Myths to fiction, including the Old Gods New Tricks series.
He also makes The Dunnos and Age of Stone comic strips for The Phoenix magazine. His books have been translated to 25 languages, with surprisingly few complaints so far. He has won the Sheffield Children’s Book Award, was twice nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal, longlisted for the Klaus Flugge Prize and was a finalist for Blackwell's Book of the Year in 2025.
